For easy reference, here are the hats that are still for sale. Take a close look, most prices have been reduced
To start, here are a couple of comparison studies - knitted and crocheted hats in the same yarn.
This is the first hat that I knit following Elizabeth Zimmerman's instructions on a video from the library from her PBS series. I highly recommend the video and I had so much fun! I love a challenge! Here is a close up of the fair isle design. Double click on the image to get the full effect.
It fits a large child's head or a small adult.
25% wool blend (washable)
fits a 19 - 22" head (love the stretchy knitting!)
$20.00
And here is its sister hat. This one is crocheted out of the same Patons Shetland chunky in counterpane stitch with a picot edge
It fits a 51 cm (20") head
75% acrylic, 25% wool
$25.00
Here are two hats made from the same Japanese Noro wool. It is one of my favourite wools to work with. I just love the colours! The first is knitted and the second is crocheted. The knitted hat is much stretchier and the crocheted hat is thicker and holds its shape.
This wee hat is %100 wool and fits about 40 cm (16"). But it is stretchy so it could fit a bit smaller and a bit bigger. This was my knitting project in Mexico and I was pleased to see that I was not the only one who brought my knitting to the beach...
Fits a medium sized child's head (40 - 45 cm or 18 - 20")
100% wool
$20
And here is the crocheted hat - much smaller yet using the same amount of wool. Please double click on the images to get the full effect of the texture and the ruffled brim.
It fits about 45cm (18") head.
$15.00
SOLD
More hats updated tomorrow. As they are updated, I will delete the 'buy now' button in the post they previously appeared in but feel free to read through for more details.
